Those of you who know me know that I've been really ill since Dec. 6. Until early January, I was confined to bed and really struggled with high fever, respiratory problems, and pain.

Throughout the illness, the first lines of an unfinished poem of mine kept running through my mind: God will make a way where there is none that you can see. As I lay there, unable to sleep, unable to read, drifting in and out of awareness, the line kept floating through my mind. It became both prayer and comfort for me.

The poem was one that I had been trying to finish for a couple of years. I had a good beginning, but the rest...wouldn't come. I'd tried a gazillion versions, but nothing felt right. So it sat in my computer, waiting.

Once I started getting up and began feeling clear-headed, the line continued to tease me until finally I decided to try again to finish it. It had been so long since I worked on the poem that Deb had to do a search to locate it for me!

What a surprise though - in a matter of moments it was finished! I knew it was special - I felt such a wave of peace and happiness wash over me as I read it. I asked Deb to read it, and she sighed when she had finished. "It's wonderful," she nodded. "This was truly inspired."

I believe it. I think Only Trust was given to us at this time of challenge on every level to comfort people with the truths that will sustain us during whatever hardships we face. I can't believe that it came through me, but I am so happy and humbled to be part of it.

Jean, I'm so happy for you and your words are very true. Would you care to share the rest of the poem with us?
