Hi, everone,
My name is Sam and, yes, I am the Mother of 2 cats - Treya, 11 and Molly, 9. They are my constant companions and I don't know where I would be without them.
I've known Deb and Jean for what feels like forever! I met Deb when she first came to the church I was attending and that was 14 years ago (right, Deb?). And then met Jean on her first visited to Canuckland.
I am very involved in the Anglican Church where my focus is currently on music. I play guitar, piano, keyboard, organ and sing, none of which I have done in public for a very long time. My music was a gift that my sweetie, Bev, loved so much and when she died almost 3 years ago now, I lost the desire to do anything that involved it. I continued to sing in the Choir, but didn't really put much effort into it.
A year ago exactly, we got a new Music Director and Organist and they (2 women) are wonderful. The choirs (Jr & Sr) sound wonderful and I played guitar on Christmas Eve and played piano last week and this week - AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!!! I practice at least once a day and music is my constant companion. Oh, yeah, and I'm taking singing lessons again with our Music Director and helping with the Junior Choir again. I feel so alive when I'm "doing" music and this is exactly what I needed in my life right now.
Other parts of my life include 2 stepdaughters and their mates, 4 Grandchildren (2 boys, 2 girls), Mom and my chosen family who include many wonderful friends. I work as a clerk for the Toronto Public Health in the Sexually Transmitted Infections unit, which can be very interesting at times! I'm basically a computer geek who sits there for 7-8 hours a day inputting data and competing with crazy software. Not the job I intended to be doing, but that's another story for another time as I've gone on far toooooo long for an "intro".
Anyways, this gives you a bit of an idea of who I am - just another one of those crazy, nerdy musican/computer types ("Geeks are Hot") and I'm glad to be here.
Blessings,
Sam
